Lenovo ThinkPad E490 Office Laptop in review: The Radeon GPU is too much for the cooling solution
Intel Core i7-8565U | AMD Radeon RX 550X (Laptop) | 14.00" | 1.9 kg
The AMD Radeon RX 550X is mobile mid-range graphics card for laptops based on the Polaris architecture. It features 640 shaders (10 CUs) or 512 shaders (8 CUs) with different clock speeds. The clock rate in the Lenovo Thinkpad E590 is 1176 MHz although AMD states up to 1287 MHz in the specifications (including the desktop version).
The performance should be similar to a Nvidia Geforce MX250 and therefore suited only for entry level gaming (e.g. less demanding games like Dota 2 or World of Tanks).
According to our information, the RX 550X is currently sold with 4 GB GDDR5 memory for around 30 - 40 dollars to laptop manufacturers.
