NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT

NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT

NVidia GeForce 8400M GT is the DirectX 10 capable successor of the GeForce Go 7400 for laptops and technologically a slower 8600M GS video card. The performance is slightly above the 7400 and therefore it can represent current games fluently with reduced details / resolutions. For people who play occasionally, it may be sufficient.

The particularity of this video card are the "Unified Shader". Pixel- and vertex-shaders do not exist any more but 16 of the so called stream processors do the graphic work.

One advantage of the GeForce 8000 series is the integrated PureVideo video processor. It can support the CPU in decoding H.264, VC-1, MPEG2, and WMV9 encoded videos in HD quality > PureVideo Product Comparison

Compared to desktop graphics adapters, the 8400M GT is a bit slower than the 8500 GT (because of the lower memory speed).

Notebook reviews with NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GT graphics card

Review Sony Vaio VGN-FZ21E Notebook

Compact Middle Class. Mostly the user's demands on a notebook are rather indifferent. The notebook should have something of everything and especially the price should be interesting. The Sony Vaio FZ21E is one of these notebooks, which scores points first of all because of its interesting price - performance ratio. Furthermore, its design is aesthetically pleasing.

Review Sony Vaio VGN-AR51M Notebook

Sony and graphics… Besides a number of fine, small notebooks with LED display and elegant carbon fiber cases, Sony also offers at least one interesting series in the fields of desktop replacement notebooks, the AR models. Though big, these are aesthetically pleasing and score points especially by their bright display. Regarding video performance, Sony forges ahead anyway for a long time.

User Review Sony Vaio VGN-FZ11M

With the official arrival of the Sony Vaio notebooks to Poland, one of them, FZ11M, raised hope, because Sony is a respected brand in Poland. However, Sony provided contrary to the advertisement only 64MB of VRAM. Nevertheless, Micheal (known as kaaz in our forum), thinks that it is a nice machine for office and multimedia tasks, because of its reliability good workmanship, and quiet operation...
