83% Dell G5 15 5590 (i7-8750H, RTX 2060, SSD, FHD) Laptop Review

Long-lasting gaming laptop. The hardware in the Dell G5 allows for all modern computer games to run smoothly on the 15.6-inch display (FHD, IPS). The configuration is also appealing: SSD + HDD, 8 GB RAM (dual-channel mode is enabled) and Thunderbolt 3. The outstanding battery life is surprising. However, this price level also requires some compromises.

A real Core i5 competitor: AMD Ryzen 7 3750H performing on par with the Intel Core i5-9300H (Image source: Asus)

A real Core i5 competitor: AMD Ryzen 7 3750H strikes hard against the Intel Core i5-9300H

The 12 nm 35 W Ryzen 7 3750H is essentially on par with the 14 nm 45 W Core i5-8300H and even i5-9300H in terms of multi-threaded performance. Now, all that's left is for more OEMs to adopt the Ryzen H-series so more budget-conscious or mainstream gamers can benefit from the generally less expensive AMD parts.

Deal | Acer Nitro 5 with Core i5-8300H, GTX 1050 Ti graphics, and 256 GB SSD is only $630 USD right now

Budget gaming laptops don't have to cost $1000. With Computex 2019 right around the corner, retailers are now offering heavy discounts on last generation SKUs to make room for newer models. The best part is that these older processors are still able to offer nearly the same performance as the latest generation hardware.

The Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 is now receiving Android Pie globally

We were big fans of the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 when it was released a year ago, mostly because of its high performance to price ratio. Asus is keeping it alive for one more year, too, with users of the device around the globe currently receiving the much-anticipated Android Pie update.

Over US$300 can be saved on a Dell XPS 15 9570 laptop. (Image source: Dell)

Deal | Dell's Memorial Day sale knocks US$338 off an XPS 15 9570 and a mind-blowing US$1,592 off an Alienware 15 with GeForce GTX 1080

Dell Inspiron 15 5000 5584 (i7-8565U) Laptop Review

77% Dell Inspiron 15 5000 5584 (i7-8565U) Laptop Review

Cheap starter laptop. It's uninteresting, uninspiring, and unimaginative. To users looking for a budget no-frills laptop, however, this probably sounds perfect. The Inspiron 15 5584 comes standard with a Whiskey Lake-U CPU, 1080p IPS display and a PCIe SSD for only about $500 USD to make it a real performance bargain.
