Reviews for the Oppo Realme X
Source: The Mobile Indian

Realme X is a good attempt from the brand to give some good value-for-money proposition to its potential buyers. The smartphone comes loaded with a premium design and the AMOLED display is a good addition, though it lacks HD streaming support. You will not face any trouble when it comes to the performance, though the user interface is still loaded with a noticeable amount of bloatware. The camera performance in daylight condition is quite good, though in low light it shimmers a bit. That said, when you look at the price point, it sure looks like a deal you simply cannot resist.

Realme X is a commendable effort by the company and a phone that does a premium in the under Rs 20,000 segment. This is also among the cheapest pop-up camera phones that you can buy for those who care. The design is flawless and performance should not disappoint.

Priced at Rs 19,999 for the 8GB RAM variant (which has been reviewed here), the Realme X is a beautiful smartphone that delights with its performance, imaging quality and vibrant display. Except for the UI and plastic build, there is absolutely nothing to complain about.

Buy the Realme X for its display, for its ability to handle gaming better than its competitors and for its battery life. We will not pass judgement on the OS except to say that yes, it is a fluid experience. While in terms of pure CPU compute, the Snapdragon 710 trails behind the SD 675, but the GPU on the 710 more than makes up for it. Overall, you won’t find the performance of this phone to be a point of complaint. What you may at times feel underwhelming is the imaging capabilities in low light. Honestly, there’s no one area where the Realme X falls flat on its face, making this a phone that’s hard not to recommend.

The Realme X represents a coming of age for the brand. The phone is well-built, polished, and rather good to look at. The hardware is paired with a well-optimized build of software that, despite some questionable design choices, manages to offer excellent usability enhancements. Add to that an excellent camera and it leaves little to complain about.

Sometimes to beat the market leader you need to follow their strategy and give it your own twist. Realme with the Realme X has done exactly that. Just like Xiaomi it has packed features that no one else is offering at this price point. Not even Xiaomi. It’s biggest competitor will be the Redmi Note 7 Pro and it won’t be too presumptuous to say that Xiaomi could be worried as Realme is phone that’s packed with features to the hilt. There’s a pop-up selfie camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, a solid processor and good looks. It’s pretty much what we would call an almost complete package. If the camera performance would have been outstanding then, it would have been hard to beat this phone. But you don’t get everything, do you? Still, Realme X is a smartphone that we can see a lot of people buying and not being disappointed with it. It is --as Helena in A Midnight Summer’s Dream said – fierce. Fiercely good.

For the price it holds, the Realme X seems to be the game-changer in the mid-range segment. Features such as the AMOLED screen, pop-up selfie camera, in-display fingerprint scanner, 48 MP Sony IMX586 camera, and Snapdragon 710 CPU are more than enough to prove itself. The Realme X also comes in Spider-Man Edition and Master Edition (Onion & Garlic) in 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage variants all at the same price of Rs 19,999.

So should you be considering investing in the Realme X? We would say definitely. Simply because although it does not have a killer feature, it manages to do everything that you would expect. And combines it with very good design. The likes of the Redmi Note series have good reason to be worried. Yes, the Realme X starts at a higher price than the Redmi Note 7 Pro, but it brings features like a bigger display (an AMOLED one at that), a pop-up camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor to the battle.

Realme X is a premium-looking smartphone that comes with a sleek design language along with an immersive screen. The display looks Crisp and the hardware is in sync with the latest trend. The camera is one department that needs more testing and the user interface has its own sets of pros and cons. As for the competition is concerned, it will face tough competition from upcoming Redmi K20.

Will the Realme X offer cut to cut competion with the Redmi K20 series, we will need to wait for that, anyway the 710 processor is kind of outdated, Vivo Z1Pro recently launched is 712 powered in fact in few days Xiaomi will launch the Redmi K20 and the Redmi K20 Pro that is already using the latest Snapdragon 730 and the Snapdragon 855 respectively.

The Realme X is the company's attempt at building an ‘affordable flagship', and for a first try, we'd say it has done a very good job. Other than the lack of expandable storage — which isn't really a big issue considering you get 128GB of internal storage — it's hard to find any major fault with this phone. The Realme X is built well and looks good. It has a big and vivid display, good software, and a capable set of cameras.

As far as 2019 trends go, the Realme X ticks all the right boxes. It has a great combination of features such as a full-screen Super AMOLED display, pop-up selfie camera and a 48MP dual camera setup that is easily accessible under Rs 20,000. And these features aren't just added for the sake of it. They actually work. The Realme X offers a stunning display and some of the best cameras you will find in this segment. To top it off, it offers a powerful Snapdragon 710 chipset along with plenty of RAM and VOOC fast charging.

However, the starting price of this Realme X is only 1499 yuan, and it is also positioned as the flagship product of the current realme brand. It can be said that in the same price, Realme X is based on its slogan: leapfrog, concentrating the configuration that is impossible to appear at the same price and bringing together the experience of higher-priced products. It can be said that realme X redefines the thousand yuan machine, and this international student gave a good lesson to the domestic thousand yuan machine market.

The highest specced phone in Realme's portfolio, the X has a nice display, battery life to spare and cameras that capture great photos and video. The pop-up selfie mechanism adds a dash of flair on top of all the reasonable bits, but we're not as excited about the lack of storage expansion capability. All that said, the Realme X is well worthy of its anniversary name. The tenth model in the company's lineup launches a year after it all started and it's a mature, well-rounded smartphone with few flaws and plenty to like about it. It's easily recommended.

We’ll be going into more detail on the Realme X in a full review at a later date. For now, this feels like another incredibly strong offering from the nascent Chinese brand that once again delivers premium features at an insanely low price. This is perhaps true more than ever with the Realme X, which starting at just 1,499 yuan ($218/195 euros/15,322 rupees) is an absolute steal.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
