Reviews for the Huawei MateBook 13 i7

86.3% Huawei MateBook 13 (i7-8565U, GeForce MX150) Laptop Review | Notebookcheck
Don't let its diminutive size fool you — this 3:2 13.0-inch laptop is equipped with a much faster GPU than your typical Ultrabook. Huawei's latest offering is supposed to be a mid-range product, but its unique build and specifications are anything but.
Huawei MateBook 13 Review: A High Performance Ultrabook With Caveats
Source: Hot Hardware English
In the meantime, we can say the Huawei MateBook 13 is pushing the envelope of expectations for high-performance, smaller form factor premium ultrabooks, and in that regard the system is a winner.

HUAWEI MateBook 13 laptop [Review]
Source: Beta News English
Well, folks, HUAWEI has done it again -- its computers and devices are consistently excellent. The Core i7 MateBook 13 is highly recommended and absolutely worth its $1,300 asking price. You can save $300 by opting for the Core i5 with its smaller SSD and Intel graphics, but I'd suggest sticking with the top model if you can swing it. You can buy it now.

Huawei MateBook 13 review: A beautiful, premium laptop targeting Apple’s MacBook Air
Source: Android Authority English
Regardless, you simply can’t go wrong with Huawei’s MateBook 13. It’s definitely a great Windows-based alternative to the latest MacBook Air.

90% Huawei MateBook 13 review: It puts the MacBook Air to shame
Source: Neowin English
Huawei makes a good product, whether it's a smartphone or a PC. That's the bottom line. Every time I've used a Huawei device, it has exceeded my expectations, and the MateBook 13 is no different. I mentioned a few times throughout this review that the Huawei PC lineup is now a bit complicated, and a big part of that is that this is probably the Huawei laptop I'd recommend, at least until the X and X Pro get refreshes.

Huawei Matebook 13 review: a powerful GPU and Whiskey Lake chip propel this compact notebook
Source: Good Gear Guide English
While it’s tempting to call the Matebook 13 a thin-and-light PC, the combination of the discrete GPU and Intel’s latest Whiskey Lake chip help the Matebook 13 punch well above its weight class. Because of this, the lack of at least one Thunderbolt port feels a little out of character, and we’re guessing Thunderbolt will be a feature of an upcoming Matebook X Pro refresh.

Should you be worried about the government’s reluctance to endorse Huawei? It’s worth a note of caution, though there's no information publicly available to confirm either way. We can say with certainty, however, that Huawei has excelled with the Matebook 13.

Ultimately, if you're looking for Windows power in a MacBook-like body, the MateBook 13 is worth considering. It doesn't stand out or break new ground, but it is a capable machine. Just know that there are plenty of other options you should be looking at, too.

If you are looking for the most compact premium Windows laptop with a 3:2 display, discrete graphics, and a great price, the MateBook 13 is it. But most people should just go with the MateBook X Pro instead.

Huawei MateBook 13 review: Hands-on
Source: PC Advisor English
It may sound cliché to compare the MateBook 13 to the MacBook Air, but it’s hard not to. With such similar designs there’s little to tell the laptops apart on aesthetics, and as soon as you look at the internals Huawei’s laptop pulls sharply ahead.

Well, it may well pip it in every important department when it comes to specs, and opting for Huawei’s laptop will save you a good deal of cash too. Then it just comes down to how married you are to macOS and those little Apple touches.

Not to get ahead of ourselves, but we’re generally expecting the Huawei MateBook 13 to be a benchmark laptop for 2019. Save for a few bugbears, we foresee this laptop to be one to beat this year.

NVIDIA GeForce MX150: Pascal GP108 based laptop graphics card and mobile version of the desktop GeForce GT 1030. Offers 384 shader cores and usually 2 GB GDDR5 with a 64 Bit memory bus. Manufactured in 14nm. With these GPUs you are able to play modern and demanding games fluently at medium detail settings and HD resolution. » Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Graphics Cards and the corresponding Benchmark List.
Intel Core i7: The Intel Core i7 for laptops is based on the LG1156 Core i5/i7 CPU for desktops. The base clock speed of the CPUs is relatively low, but because of a huge Turbo mode, the cores can dynamically overclock to up to 3.2 GHz (920XM). Therefore, the CPU can be as fast as high clocked dual-core CPUs (using single threaded applications) but still offer the advantage of 4 cores. Because of the large TDP of 45 W / 55 W, the CPU is only intended for large laptops.
8565U: Whiskey Lake based low power quad-core processor (technically identical to Kaby Lake but produced in a further improved 14nm++ process). The four cores are clocked between 1.8 and 4.6 GHz (Turbo Boost) and support HyperThreading.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.
13":

This screen diagoal is quite large for tablets but small for subnotebooks. Some convertibles are also represented with that size.

Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.
1.3 kg:

This weight is typical for big tablets, small subnotebooks, ultrabooks and convertibles with a 10-11 inch display-diagonal.

Huawei: Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. is a Chinese company founded in 1987 with focus on telecommunications hardware and 170000 employees. In the first quarter of 2016, Huawei had a market share of 8.2% in the smartphone market, making it the third-largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. Compared to the same quarter of 2015, Huawei increased its market share by more than 58%.
In 2014, Huawei created the sub brand Honor and offers certain smartphone series under this name. The name Huawei is usually not listed for these products.
There are a lot of reviews on Huawei phones with slightly above average ratings (as of 2016).
79.33%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
