Reviews for the Huawei MateBook 14s i7
The Huawei MateBook 14s is a new subnotebook with a high-resolution 3:2 touchscreen. In addition to the 14.2-inch panel, you also get the new Tiger Lake-H35 chip Core i7-11370H from Intel.

The MateBook 14s has not one, not two, but four speakers. Sounds like a lot, but the volume isn't that loud. That's because the speakers are all at the bottom, so the sound is somewhat muffled. If you plan to watch videos or listen to music, we recommend using headphones or earphones. Besides that, the laptop can be connected to other products such as MatePad tablets or Mate series smartphones. This allows you to use the devices as extra screens and interact with them via the laptop. For instance, you could drag and drop to copy files easily. Unfortunately, I don't own a Huawei device, so I didn't get to try that. Overall, the Huawei MateBook 14s is an attractive option for professionals, especially with its compact design and high performance for productivity. Unlike most computers in this price category, the MateBook 14s offers a touch screen that can simplify your daily tasks and comes with a good display.

Even if Huawei was selling the MateBook 14s on its own for £1,200, I’d rate it as a great buy. But the fact that you’re getting it with a load of free gear, including a monitor and mouse, makes it even more tempting. It’s a lovely machine to look at and use, the display and sound system are both top-notch and the performance can match any other 14in compact laptops in its price bracket. Add to that the clever quad-microphone set-up and Huawei’s overdue realisation that putting webcams under fake function keys is a silly idea, and you have a machine that can be strongly recommended.

Is the HUAWEI MateBook 14s a good choice for work? Definitely! I have no doubts about it. It performs decently well to meet all the common work and productivity applications. In fact, while we think back about our times using it, it should be considered to be quite an all-rounder as well, as it serves to the best of what it can be it for work or entertainment. Of course, its professional and premium design also makes it suitable regardless of any kinds of setting. *But I still got to say that I’m not a fan of the logo on the lid* If you are looking for a new portable notebook computer that can serve your well for your daily work, do seriously consider the HUAWEI MateBook 14s. The HUAWEI MateBook 14s is available at a SRP of S$1,998. It can be purchased at Huawei Authorized Stores, Lazada and Shopee, as well as Consumer electronic stores (Best Denki, COURTS, Challenger and Gain City).

The Huawei MateBook 14s is a great ultra-portable laptop, packing a 14.2-inch display with a 3:2 aspect ratio that makes working with multiple tabs a breeze. With an improved webcam setup and a 11th-generation Intel processor, this is a hard laptop to criticise.

Huawei may be struggling (outside China) with its smartphones right now thanks to the continuing ban on Google Mobile Services, but the 2021 MateBook 14s shows the company on top form with its laptops. Now that the keyboard-embedded webcam is no longer an issue, there are no deal-breakers, although it would be good to see a privacy cover for the webcam, along with a boost to 1080p resolution. Battery life is good, the keyboard is great to work with, there's plenty of storage and a powerful processor to keep things going, while the touch screen's 90Hz refresh rate makes for smoother working. It's just a shame the Spruce Green chassis isn't available for the higher 1TB specification.

The Huawei Matebook 14s is a powerful PC with an excellent screen, an accurate trackpad and a smooth keyboard - plus it looks incredibly smart. It'll be perfect for anyone who needs a new work PC, whether you type all day, manage spreadsheets or even if you spend your days performing more creative tasks like graphic design. I am really pleased to see the back of the keyboard webcam for remote working as well, it means this laptop can be used for video calls much more comfortably. Without other Huawei devices, you won’t be able to make the most out of all of the smart features this computer has to offer, like Huawei Share. So while anyone can use this and will like this, the Huawei Matebook 14s will be best suited to Huawei fans.

After in-depth testing of the Huawei Matebook 14S laptop model, I had only positive emotions. Comparing the two models of the device, namely today’s hero with the Matebook 16, I would definitely choose the Matebook 14S. Of the advantages, the device stands out for its high-quality assembly and premium manufacturing materials. I also liked the bright and rich IPS screen with touch panel and 90Hz refresh rate. In addition, the design of the keyboard and touchpad will delight any user. I can also highlight the fast operation of the LPDDR4x format RAM and also the fast operation of the built-in memory. Also, the laptop was equipped with high-quality speakers and built-in microphones.

The MateBook 14s is a solid upgrade to the company’s laptop line that simultaneously fixes other MateBooks’ biggest flaw and packs in more power than ever. The new webcam is far from the best around, but moving into the bezel and unlocking Windows Hello facial recognition is a welcome move that undoes what for many was a deal-breaking fault in the old design. With an H-series i7 processor and 16GB RAM this is a seriously powerful machine for its size, even when it comes to graphics-heavy workloads – though if you’re not looking for a powerhouse then you can save money elsewhere, even on other Huawei MateBooks. With plenty of ports and a killer keyboard this is a capable all-rounder though, best suited to anyone who prioritises performance but isn’t willing to give up on portability.

The Huawei MateBook 14s i7 is a testament that they can make good laptops. As an ultraportable, the MateBook 14s i7 plays it safe with a conventional yet well made chassis that crams in an excellent 3:2 aspect ratio touchscreen and sufficiently powerful hardware to merit an Intel Evo certification. The unique 3:2 aspect ratio and high specifications make the MateBook 14s i7 an excellent ultraportable and a highly recommended choice for productivity and power users.

Huawei’s latest premium laptop has all of the goodies you’d expect from a premium offering. The display is very good (even if the touch-capability is a bit of a waste), the keyboard is a dream to type on and there’s enough performance here for the laptop to pull double duty as an impromptu photo or video editing machine. If you’re looking for a premium laptop, the Huawei MateBook 14s is a great choice according to our review if you’re in the Philippines.

Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs: Integrated graphics card in Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs based on the new Gen. 12 architecture with 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). The clock rate depends on the processor model. The Tiger Lake chips are produced in the modern 10nm+ process at Intel.
Modern games should be playable with these graphics cards at low settings and resolutions. Casual gamers may be happy with these cards.

14 inch display size represents a middle ground between the small subnotebook formats and the screens of the standard 15 inch laptops.
The reason for the popularity of mid-sized displays is that this size is reasonably easy on the eyes, provides good resolutions with usable detail sizes, yet does not consume too much power and the devices can still be reasonably compact.
In the past, 14-inch devices were very rare, but now they are the standard for laptops after the 15-inchers.
