Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy S10e
The smallest new flagship from Samsung should appeal to people for whom spending almost €1,000 (~$1,125) on a smartphone is abhorrent. The S10e has many of the features that its more expensive siblings do, but Samsung has made some compromises to keep the costs down. Read on to find out how the S10e performs in our tests and whether it offers better value for money than the Galaxy S10 or S10+.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e is a cheaper flagship phone that hits most of the same highs as its costlier siblings. You're still getting the same fantastic display, brisk performance, streamlined software and generous specs that make the S10 and S10 Plus great, only without some bells and whistles you don't really need (like the in-display fingerprint sensor).

We might've come in expecting to be critical of this lesser featured Galaxy phone, but we've come away wanting nothing. In many ways it's simply the smaller Galaxy option for those who don't want a giant phone. By no means is it the poor-man's Galaxy we thought it might be.

The best sub-6-inch smartphone you can buy today, with top-level components, a beautiful-looking AMOLED screen, and a stylish design. The 'e' in Samsung Galaxy S10e stands for 'essential', which means it packs almost everything the S10 and S10 Plus have, at a lower price. You get a 5.8-inch screen, the same two primary cameras, and all-day battery life, but you’ll miss out on a third lens, the curved display edges, and the in-screen fingerprint sensor. That's the tempting compromise offered by Samsung's 'budget flagship' and answer to Apple's iPhone XR.

Despite what some people might say, you don’t need a gigantic display or three cameras on your smartphone. You might want them, but they’re not a necessity. We live in a world of excess, and the top two Galaxy S10 models deliver in spades. The Galaxy S10e is the most normal phone of the bunch, offering a great overall experience without making any detrimental sacrifices. You’ll be hard-pressed to find a better phone at this price point. Samsung’s improved software coupled with its extraordinary hardware makes for an overall great smartphone, and one I’m not going to put down for a long time.

The recent introduction of the OnePlus 7 Pro at the same price point muddies the water a bit. It has a bigger and faster display, the same Snapdragon 855 foundation, and a more robust camera arrangement. Where the Galaxy S10e wins is in battery life, water and dust resistance, and Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax) connectivity. Samsung phones also tend to be featured in various promo deals, which could potentially tip things in the Galaxy S10e's favor. Still, it's a tough choice between the two.

It’s been about two months since I reviewed the Galaxy S10E, Samsung’s best-value purchase among the many S10 telephones, and I am nonetheless simply as offered. While it might appear downright boring in comparison with the 6.7-inch, quad-camera S10 5G or the bendable Galaxy Fold, the S10E can be way more of a positive factor, and reliability is a reasonably universally chart-topping trait in relation to shopping for a brand new telephone. The S10 5G will solely be as quick as its supporting networks, and… nicely, you recognize all in regards to the Galaxy Fold’s display points. The smartest thing in regards to the Galaxy S10E is that it is a full and tidy bundle that shares the identical core options because the $1,000 Galaxy S10 Plus, however for a a lot decrease sum.

The best thing about the Galaxy S10E is that it's a complete and tidy package that shares the same core features as the $1,000 Galaxy S10 Plus, but for a much lower sum. Starting at $750, £669 and AU$1,199, the Galaxy S10E is a high-value home run with very few flaws. In fact, two Galaxy S10E "trade-offs" might actually solve potential problems you might have with the larger Galaxy S10 Plus. The "E" may stand for "Essential", but it also stands for "Excellence."

The Samsung Galaxy S10E is proof that phones don’t have to come in a giant footprint to be deemed powerful. Sometimes, the smallest packages pack the largest punch and the Galaxy S10E does just that. It’s performance and the camera quality is more or less similar to the Galaxy S10 and the Galaxy S10+. While you’re unlikely to miss the larger display or the extra cameras, the disappointingly short battery life is sure to rain on the S10E’s parade. Just remember to keep a charger handy all the time. For an otherwise fantastic package, the battery life is a big let down and is the only reason why I’d recommend the Galaxy S10 over the S10E. We will be keeping a close eye on the software updates pushed out by Samsung over the next few months and will report in case the battery life improves.

The S10e could well be the people's favourite. The price is right, the specs are right and the real-world performance is up there with all flagships from other manufacturers. Samsung made a smart move with the Galaxy S10e. It targets those that still want a Galaxy S device but may not need all the extra bells and whistle that create that $899-999 price point some can’t afford. It packs a punch in the hardware department with its processing power and even with its 1080p display still looks good. The Galaxy S10e is arguably the best S10 for most people. Not only is the pricing attractive, but Samsung has done exceedingly well in not downgrading the experience too much. The Galaxy S10e might not have all the frills of the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+, but at Rs. 55,900 it retains a lot of the features and style of the other two, making it very good value. In India, it's a much better deal than the iPhone XR ₹ 67,999, not only in terms of features, but also cost. Samsung unveiled three new Galaxy S10 series models at an event in San Francisco on Wednesday - the Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+, and Galaxy S10e. Samsung's latest flagship offerings are packed to the gills with features in the hope of giving sales at the top-end of the market a boost after the underwhelming showing by the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy Note 9. The headline feature on the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ is perhaps the in-display “ultrasonic” fingerprint scanner, while all three new phones feature “hole-punch” selfie cameras at the top-right.

Predictably, the latest high-end Galaxies don't fail to dazzle. They have the fine build that we've come to expect from Samsung's flagships, class-leading displays that are now synonymous with the brand and cameras that have taken the next evolutionary step by embracing the ultra-wide angle modes. Oh, and also internals that make competing offerings seem like a compromise.

The Samsung Galaxy S10e looks great and on first glance, it's tricky to tell it apart from the Galaxy S10. There are some telltale signs, like the flat screen and the dual camera instead of triple camera, but the S10e is still a solid, premium device.

Model: The Samsung Galaxy S10e is part of Samsung’s next generation phone designed to not just stand out but to stand apart. Samsung eliminated distractions for a cinematic viewing experience. By utilizing precise laser cutting, the camera has been discreetly tucked away within the display without sacrificing photo quality. The Galaxy S10e has a 5.8-inch Dynamic AMOLED screen which is HDR10+ certified, delivering Dynamic Tone Mapping for amazingly real color and contrast in each scene, even the dark ones. And the brighter screen helps users see it clearly even in bright daylight. Paired with stereo speakers and Dolby Atmos, the experience is similar to what you would get from its bigger brothers, the S10 and S10 Plus. A unique fluid composite in its latest Dynamic AMOLED reduces harmful blue light without changing the color of what's on-screen. This is probably the most advanced AMOLED screen in the market right now. As for the camera, the Galaxy S10e has a dual camera setup with 12 MP, f/1.5-2.4, 26 mm (wide), 1/2.55", 1.4µm, Dual Pixel PDAF, OIS camera, paired with another 16 MP rear camera. For the front camera, it has a 10 MP camera with f/1.9, 26 mm (wide), 1.22µm, Dual Pixel PDAF. The f/2.4 aperture mode helps photo come out sharp in bright daylight, whereas the f/1.5 aperture mode pulls in more light to brighten up low light scenes.
Powering the Galaxy S10e is an Exynos 9820 Octa (8 nm) CPU processor with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB ROM. The Neural Processing Unit also enhances the capabilities of the camera, so it recognizes more scenes with greater accuracy. Paired with the high-resolution Infinity-O Display and Dolby, the enhanced game mode delivers realistic picture and better sound, while the Unity game engine optimization makes gaming experience feel more powerful. The Galaxy S10e adapt to user’s life, reducing blue light and turning on Night mode to get user’s eyes ready for bed. And if a user falls asleep without charging the phone, it turns off unnecessary functions to help save battery life. It even keeps phone unlocked and plays music when users get in their car. The Galaxy S10e is prevented from overheating and becoming sluggish with an advanced heat pipe cooling system, AI-based performance improvements, and a GPU optimized to ensure smooth gameplay. Plus, the long-lasting battery means user can worry less about power mid-game. It packs in a non-removable Li-Ion 3,100 mAh battery at 7.9 mm device thickness and a weight of 150 g. The Galaxy S10e also features an IP68 rating, the highest mobile device standard for water and dust resistance to date. As a conclusion, the Galaxy S10e has the lowest price tag among other S10 series siblings, thus being the more affordable model in the series. It packs the same quality vivid screen but smaller size screen, and the latest hardware to deliver performance. The size of Galaxy S10e is also easier to handle with single hand, so it is suitable for users who prefer that.

It is a very small display format for smartphones. You should by no means be mis-sighted and you will generally see very little on the screen and only have a small resolution available. In return, the device should be very small and handy.
