Like the Google Pixel 8 Pro, the Samsung Galaxy S24 series is set to receive exciting AI video features

At the launch of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, we had the feeling that Google's headstart in AI, especially with the Pixel 8 Pro might only be short-lived. In 2024, a number of AI features are expected in other smartphones, not only in those with Qualcomm's new chip but also in the Galaxy S24 series, which will be partly based on Samsung's Exynos 2400. A recent leak from @BennettBuhner seems to further support this theory.

After a detailed One UI 6.1 leak a few weeks ago, X user @BennettBuhner has provided further clues about new features of Samsung's upcoming OneUI generation, which may well be exclusively restricted to the Galaxy S24 series. Two functions in particular will apparently only be available on the Galaxy S24, Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Only on the Galaxy S24: AI editing of video recordings

The first function involves the editing of videos with AI algorithms, which is intended to improve quality in low light, reduce noise and improve stabilization and illumination. But this is quite reminiscent of Google's Video Boost feature in the Pixel 8 Pro, which we recently reviewed. Another supposed feature exclusive to the Galaxy S24 is the deletion of elements of a video, which can be done by simply selecting an object. Removing your ex from holiday videos might well be possible in the future. Whether this feature will actually be implemented and how well it succeeds will be revealed at the beginning of 2024.

AI Chatbot possibly also on Galaxy S23 and the like

The exclusivity of another new AI feature that may be introduced in One UI 6.1, but has not yet been officially mentioned, remains in question. The AI chatbot is intended to handle simple tasks and questions and is of course somewhat reminiscent of the successor to Bixby. It is currently unclear whether the feature will be ready for launch.

All other One UI 6.1 features mentioned by the leaker are likely to be made available on earlier Galaxy phones that will receive the update over the next few weeks, such as the Galaxy S22 and Galaxy S23 as well as Samsung's current foldables. These include, among other things, live translation, the adding of elements to the side edges of photos (Photo Expansion) via AI, AI generated wallpapers and the extended battery protection program for Samsung smartphones.
