One UI 6.1: These Samsung devices are getting the new update including exciting AI features from the Galaxy S24 series
Yesterday Samsung launched the new Galaxy S24 series consisting of the Galaxy S24, the Galaxy S24+, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra. They all come with One UI 6.1, a new version of Samsung's operating system based on Android 14.
Of course, One UI 6.1 will not be reserved for the new Galaxy S24 series, but will also find its way onto many other Samsung smartphone and tablet models in the usual manner. The manufacturer has already told AndroidAuthority a number of devices that are set to make the leap to One UI 6.1 in the first half of 2024:
- Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra
- Galaxy S23 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold5
- Galaxy Z Flip5
- Galaxy Tab S9, Galaxy Tab S9+ and Galaxy Tab S9 Ultra
This list is truly unsurprising, as it includes all recent flagship models from Samsung's various product lines. Other devices will certainly also be supplied with One UI 6.1. There are already hints about existing test builds of the new Android firmware from Samsung for the following smartphones:
- Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra
- Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra
- Galaxy S21 FE
- Galaxy Z Fold4
- Galaxy Z Flip4
- Galaxy A54
- Galaxy A34
This list is probably not yet comprehensive. It will probably start with the latest Galaxy premium models, followed by the other devices.
With One UI 6.1, in addition to many other innovations and improvements, the new AI feature that Samsung presented with the Galaxy S24 series will also be coming to other devices, at least in part. The manufacturer has also confirmed this to AndroidAuthority.
The new AI functions of One UI 6.1 include Live Translate, the Transcription Assistant, the Chat Assistant, the Note Assistant, and Circle to Search, which Samsung demonstrated in various videos. However, these could later disappear behind a paywall.
