Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro: Global model shows itself months before rumoured launch
The launch of a new high-end Xiaomi tablet is rumoured to still be a few months away. Nonetheless, the 3C in China has disclosed a few details about the Pad 7 Pro, details of which we have covered separately. In a similar vein, the China Ultra HDR Video Industry Alliance (CUVA) has certified the same tablet for one of its latest standards.
Surprisingly, CUVA has ratified the 24018RPACC and 24018RPACG, two variants of the same device. Given that 24018RPACC has been linked with the Pad 7 Pro, the 'G' suffix in 24018RPACG suggests that Xiaomi is preparing an accompanying global model. Incidentally, GSMChina claimed as much last month, albeit by observing the codename 'sheng_pre_global' in HyperOS code.
At any rate, both Chinese and global versions of the Pad 7 Pro will arrive with HDR Vivid certified, which is said to ensure 40x higher peak brightness than traditional SDR values. For reference, Xiaomi has also certified the 24018RPACG for sale with the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC), a sign of the company's intentions to sell the Pad 7 Pro in Europe. Currently, Xiaomi is rumoured to be working towards delivering the Pad 7 Pro in April. However, there is a chance that this release window only applies to China, with a global launch potentially being scheduled later this year based on past performance.
