Xiaomi Pad 7 Pro launching later this year with huge charging upgrade
Authorities have certified the Xiaomi Pad 6 Pro's successor for sale and use in China. To recap, various sources claimed to have obtained Pad 7 Pro specifications, which include a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and a 144 Hz IPS display, among other features. Now, Xiaomi's next flagship tablet has been given the China Compulsory Certificate (3C) mark in China, another sign of a forthcoming Pad series refresh.
As the screenshot below shows, the 3C has certified '24018RPACC', a model number that is thought to relate to the Pad 7 Pro. According to the certification obtained by the likes of Gizmochina, the 24018RPACC was tested with the MDY-12-ED, a 120 W power adapter that ships with various Xiaomi smartphones. Thus, it appears that the Pad 7 Pro will match the charging performance of the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Redmi Note 13 Pro Plus, among others.
Consequently, the Pad 7 Pro will also offer almost double the peak charging wattage of its predecessor, which topped out at 67 W. Based on previous rumours, 120 W wired charging will be joined by a 10,000 mAh battery, though. Hence, overall charging times may not be that much faster than on the Pad 6 Pro, which took roughly an hour to go from 0% to 100%. Currently, Xiaomi is expected to unveil the Pad 7 Pro in April, likely alongside a cheaper Pad 7 model.
