The Chinese manufacturer Teclast's T45HD is a 10.5-inch tablet for under US$200. In our test, it proved to be a good multimedia and surfing station with an extensive array of features. Highlights include its metal case, Widevine L1 support, stock Android 13 and dual-SIM including LTE.

While most devices within this price range usually have to make do with slow eMMC flash, the Teclast T45HD features much faster UFS-2.0 storage. It has a 128 GB capacity which can even be expanded by up to 1 TB by inserting a microSD card.

With 8 GB LPDDR4X RAM, the tablet powered by the Unisoc T606 processor and its GPU ARM Mali-G57 MP1 is well-equipped. Plus, the device is solid: The T45HD, weighing 505 grams, isn't clad in plastic—it instead features a 7.5-mm-thick flat metal case.

Android 13 and DRM Widevine L1 for HD streaming

Teclast has equipped the T45HD with stock Android 13, meaning users don't have to put up with any bloatware or other types of app bombardments. In turn, the manufacturer has given its tablet a DRM Widevine L1 certification so that the 10.5-inch device can stream content in HD quality.

IPS panel without PWM, dual-SIM support and WiFi 5

The T45HD depicts content on its 16:10 IPS panel at a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and its maximum brightness of about 300 cd/m² shows that the tablet feels most comfortable indoors. Thankfully, the IPS panel makes do without any PWM flickering, so users who are sensitive to pulse width modulation can purchase the device.

Thanks to its dual-SIM support, the WiFi-5-enabled tablet can also be used easily on the go. At the same time, it supports the LTE bands that are important in the EU such as bands 7, 8 and 20.

Good runtimes with its 7200-mAh battery

in our test, the T45HD's 7200-mAh battery delivered class-average runtimes. In our simulated video playback test, it managed almost 15.5 hours. In practical use, the Teclast tablet should have no issues being used as your sole entertainment for the whole day before having to be connected back to the power.
