On the one hand, buyers want affordable technology. On the other hand, as prices drop, so does the risk of falling for a cheaply made product that fails to fulfill its promises. This is where our reviews come in, our most recent candidate being the Teclast T70.
Upon first glance, the features of the 14-inch tablet sound impressive: a huge display, LTE cellular connectivity, a metal chassis, satellite tracking for under $300. You'd normally associate a tablet of this size with a Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra or Oppo Pad 4 Pro, which is available for around $600 – significantly more expensive tablets. Apple doesn't even offer an iPad this large.
Our review of the Teclast T70 indeed reveals some positive aspects, such as the sturdy metal chassis and integrated cellular support, which usually costs an extra fee from many other manufacturers. Teclast also installs an IPS display, which does not produce PWM flickering at all.
But do all of these features work well for such a low price? Well, the relatively slow Wi-Fi and the sparse update availability raise initial doubts. Furthermore, the cameras are less than stellar in everyday use, but this is hardly surprising for the price range: good cameras on a tablet are not as prioritized as much as on smartphones.
The weight of almost one kilogram is also another downside; other tablets of this size are more lightweight. So for whom is the Teclast T70 actually suitable?
Potential buyers wanting to know more are advised to take a look at our detailed review of the Teclast T70. All aspects of the tablet are covered, ranging from its strengths to its weaknesses.
