Anbernic has officially announced the launch of an in-house developed AI application, though it's highly unlikely to utilised a self-trained AI model. Anbernic AI is exclusively available to the company’s Android-based gaming handhelds, specifically the RG Cube, RG 406V, RG 406H and RG556. To enable the AI functionality, these devices require an update, conveniently distributed as an over-the-air package.
As demonstrated by Anbernic's video, one potentially quite useful feature is the AI translator, which can be enabled in games or emulators to translate on-screen text directly. This feature could prove especially valuable in games that have never been localised and perhaps even use unfamiliar scripts.
Moreover, the AI application includes a chatbot designed to provide helpful answers to a player’s queries. During gaming sessions, this feature is accessible via a sidebar, possibly allowing players to seek solutions for in-game challenges. Anbernic also highlighted capabilities such as AI image generation and photo editing tools, including colourisation, manipulation and stylisation. The AI assistant also promises the ability to solve complex problems, such as mathematical equations.
