Powkiddy V90S: New pocketable gaming handheld receives full release after pre-sale period
It may have taken Powkiddy a while, but it has finally responded to the slew of clamshell retro gaming handhelds that emerged in the last year or so. To recap, the Powkiddy V90 arrived almost five years ago. While a favourite among some retro gaming enthusiasts, the V90 has since been supplanted by the Miyoo Flip, RG34XX SP and RG35XX SP (curr. $78.99 on Amazon).
In response, Powkiddy released the V90S earlier this month, which it has now started shipping. To recap, the V90S centres around an Allwinner A133P chipset, 1 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery that supports 5V/2A USB Type-C charging. The V90S features a 3.5-inch IPS display that resolves at 640 x 480 pixels, like many of its peers.
Initially, Powkiddy only offered the V90S through its retail platform. If that is not for you, then Powkiddy is now selling the device through its official AliExpress store in its original grey, red and yellow finishes. Unfortunately, the V90S is slightly more expensive when purchased via AliExpress.
