The Philips Hue Secure starter kit has arrived in Europe and North America. The bundle includes a 1080p camera, contact sensors, light bulbs and the Bridge for a wide range of features via the Philips Hue app. These include push notifications, triggered lighting and alarms to deter intruders.

Signify has launched the Philips Hue Secure starter kit with camera in North America and Europe. The product includes the Secure wired 1080p CMOS - F35 camera with a 141.2° field of vision. The device has Zigbee and WiFi 2.4/5GHz connectivity and comes with a power supply and wall mount.

Alongside the camera, the Philips Hue Secure starter kit includes two Secure contact sensors and two Philips Hue bulbs for white or colored light with up to 1,100 lumens brightness. The sensors can trigger phone notifications or the lights when a door or window is opened or closed. Both elements support Zigbee, with Bluetooth connectivity added to the bulbs. Also included in the kit is the Philips Hue Bridge, which ensures you have access to all features available via the company's recently updated app. These tools include a live video stream, night vision, two-way talking and audio or visual alarms to deter intruders. Plus, smart notifications can identify a person, animal, vehicle or package.

The Philips Hue Secure starter kit with camera is now available in North America and Europe for $399.99/€399.99. Signify also announced updates are on the way to the Philips Hue app's security sensor, due in the first half of 2024, for improvements to push notifications and the event timeline, and automatic alarms upon motion detection. Plus, the company is working on support for Amazon Alexa and Google Home ecosystems.
