An unreleased Philips Hue smart floor lamp has appeared in an image on the brand’s social media. The product was spotted by Hueblog on the Philips Hue Italia Instagram account, advertising the company’s New Year sale; the post seems to have been removed.
The Philips Hue floor lamp has a ring at the top, which looks to have separate front and rear-facing lighting controls. In the picture, the front of the ring has colored lighting, while a warm white light is shining from the back onto the wall behind. The device looks to be manually operated via a footpress switch, with remote controls presumably provided via the Philips Hue app. This description matches a product named the White Ambiance Semeru Floor Lamp, first seen in 2019. However, this smart floor lamp did not go on sale then, with no explanation from the brand.
A report from Homekit News suggested the model had a dimmable LED light for up to 350 lumens brightness, expected to last up to 25,000 hours. The white color temperature settings ranged from warmer tones at 2,200K to cooler, daylight-mimicking light at 6,500K. It remains to be seen whether the Philips Hue White Ambiance Semeru Floor Lamp or a similar product will finally go on sale this year. Or perhaps the image was simply used by mistake.
