CES 2024 | Govee announces Matter-compatible Neon Rope Light 2 with better flexibility
Govee has unveiled the Neon Rope Light 2 at CES 2024. Compared to the older model, the company suggests that the upgraded version is softer and easier to bend, with 14% more flexibility, thanks to 65HA silicone, for a wider variety of shapes. Other improvements include less rebounding and a different wall clip for a stronger hold in corners.
You can scan your chosen Neon Rope Light 2 shape with an image recognition tool to transfer the picture into the Govee Home App. This allows more precise customizations for various segments of your light, including RGBIC effects. The device is Matter-compatible, enabling you to integrate it with various smart home ecosystems like Amazon Alexa, Apple Home and Google Home; this is another upgrade on the older generation, though the original can be controlled with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands. The product is available in 3m (~9.8 ft) and 5m (~16.4 ft) lengths, with 42 and 70 segments, respectively, and comes in black or white to suit your set-up.
It remains unclear how much the Govee Neon Rope Light 2 will cost or exactly when it will be released, with the company suggesting it will go on sale in the first half of the year. As an indication, the original 10ft Neon Rope Light retails for $69.99. At CES 2024, Govee also announced the AI Sync Box Kit 2 and its smart home sub-brand, GoveeLife, with two new products: the Presence Sensor and the Matter-Certified Smart Plug Pro.
