CES 2024 | Predator Connect T7 debuts as Acer's first Wi-Fi 7 router with overhauled design and simplified connectivity

Acer has unveiled the Predator Connect T7, one of two routers introduced as part of its CES 2024 showcase. As far as we can tell, the Predator Connect T7 replaces the Predator Connect W6, a Wi-Fi 6E router that it presented during CES 2023. However, few similarities exist between the Predator Connect W6 and T7, despite only a year separating their releases.

On the one hand, the Predator Connect T7 has no visible antennas, of which there are six on the Predator Connect W6. This time, Acer has adopted a simpler aesthetic with a modest front-mounted status light, a grey Predator logo and a secondary status light shaped like the Predator logo. On the other hand, Acer has included just two Ethernet connections, half the number found in the Predator Connect W6. Additionally, the Predator Connect T7 has a USB Type-C port, support for Qualcomm's Multi-Link Mesh technology and Hybrid QoS software that is compatible with the Intel Killer Prioritisation Engine.

Moreover, the new router can be controlled through the Predator Connect Utility app and features the Trend Micro Home Network Security Engine. Unfortunately, Acer has not shared any details about pricing or availability yet. Instead, it has teased that both will be 'announced at a later date'. For context, Acer launched the Predator Connect T7's predecessor last year for $299.99, although prices have since dropped below $200. Presumably, then, Acer's first Wi-Fi 7 capable router will cost at least $299, if not slightly more, because of its more advanced networking capabilities.
