Xiaomi has launched the Mijia Dual-Core Water Purifier 1200G Pro in China. The new model builds on the older Dual-Core 1200G model, with an upgrade from a single to a dual carbon filtration system to improve the taste of the water.
The 1200G Pro’s dual 400G and 800G filter elements, removing bacteria and heavy metals, now have a lifespan of up to eight years, an increase from the five year life expectancy of the parts in the older 1200G. The Mijia water purifier has an eight-stage filtration system, which features a PP element to remove sediment and rust alongside the various RO and carbon layers. The faucet can fill a glass of water in three seconds with a 3.2L per minute rate. The device has a 5:1 pure-to-waste water ratio, and a built-in display shows information such as the water’s TDS value, any issues with the gadget and reminders to replace filter elements. Alternatively, you can view statistics from the purifier, such as water quality, water consumption and filter usage, in the Xiaomi app.
Another benefit of the Pro model is an increase in the warranty offered by Xiaomi from one year to three years. You can now buy the Xiaomi Mijia Dual-Core Water Purifier 1200G Pro in China for the discounted price of 3,299 yuan (~$465); the product has a recommended retail price of 3,499 yuan ($490). Whether Xiaomi will launch this product in other markets remains to be seen.
