Mammotion YUKA: first self-emptying robot mower crowdfunding campaign launching soon
Mammotion has announced the YUKA robotic lawn mower with 3D Vision. The company claims it is the world’s first self-emptying robot mower, placing collected grass clippings, leaves and twigs in a designated area.
An RTK system with 3D Vision allows the YUKA to navigate your yard without needing perimeter wires and protects against GPS blind spots. Plus, deep learning helps the robot to remember detected obstacles and avoid them in the future. The YUKA has a 320 mm (~12.6-in) cutting disc, with a cutting height adjustable between 30 and 100 mm (~1.2 and 3.9-in). You can customize the robot’s settings in the accompanying app, such as scheduling future mowing or selecting designs to be mown into your lawn. Other features include Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands, rain detection and 4G GPS tracking.
The YUKA can mow an area of 200 m² (~2,150 ft²) in an hour, making it suitable for small to medium lawns, with the robot automatically returning to its dock to charge as necessary. The Mammotion YUKA robotic lawn mower will crowdfund on Kickstarter, with the campaign launching later in January. The pledge levels for the product and its recommended retail price have yet to be revealed.
