Aiper has announced the Horizon U1 robot lawn mower. This is the first model from the brand, known for its range of robotic pool cleaners like the Seagull SE Cordless, with the company looking to provide more smart solutions for your backyard. The device is suitable for areas of up to 3,000 m² (~32,200 ft² or 0.47 acres) and can tackle slopes up to 45%.
The Horizon U1 uses RTK and Inertial Navigation System (INS) technology to navigate your lawn with high accuracy without the need for a boundary wire, as seen in older models. Obstacle avoidance is possible thanks to RGB cameras and ToF sensors, ensuring the robot does not collide with furniture, toys, or pets, and it will automatically return to its dock to recharge as needed. A rapid charge to 80% ensures the mower can resume its job as soon as possible. Other features include an air duct cooling system and an optional signal relay.
You can remotely control the U1 robotic mower via a new app from the brand, available for iOS and Android. The app provides features like multi-zone management and adjustments for settings like mowing height, ranging between 30 and 70 mm (~1.2 and 2.8-in). The Aiper Horizon U1 robot lawn mower is expected to launch in Q3 of this year; the pricing has yet to be announced.
