The Philips Hue Dymera indoor and outdoor wall light has been revealed. The new smart home product contains two light elements, one at the top and another at the bottom, which can be controlled simultaneously or individually. For example, you could choose to have colored light shining from the top of the light and warm white light from the bottom.
The Dymera can be remotely controlled via the recently updated Philips Hue app, where you can choose from 16 million colors. Other features include wireless dimming via the app or a switch, grouping in zones with other lights and pre-set scenes. To use the light outdoors, you must use a Bridge, which enables voice commands via smart home ecosystems like Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Apple Home, as well as automatic updates; the product is also Bluetooth compatible. The light has a maximum brightness of 1,020 lumens, with color temperatures between 2,000 and 6,500K. According to Signify, the device is expected to last around ten years or 25,000 hours, with the LED light source replaceable “by a professional”.
The product has a black metal casing measuring 94 x 230 x 160 mm (~3.7 x 9.0 x 6.3-in) and is described as IP44 weather-proof, meaning it can withstand rain. The Philips Hue Dymera indoor and outdoor wall light will retail for $219.99/£199.99/€219.99, though it remains unclear when it will launch.
