The Philips Hue Secure floodlight camera has been announced for Europe and North America. The two-in-one gadget, suitable for outdoor use, combines a version of the brand’s Secure camera with a bright light to make it easier to see if you get home in the dark, or to deter intruders.
The Secure floodlight camera, a CMOS - F35 unit, has a 1080p resolution and a 141.2° field of vision. Other features include motion detection, night vision and a microphone for two-way audio. Above the camera sits a 9.8 x 7.9-in (~250 x 200 mm) lamp offering colored light with up to 2,250 lumens brightness. The camera and floodlight can operate in temperatures from -20°C to 45°C (~-4°F to 113°F), and the device supports both dual-band Wi-Fi and Zigbee connectivity protocols. It is worth noting that the Philips Hue Bridge is required to unlock all app-based features of the floodlight camera.
The Philips Hue Secure floodlight camera is now on sale in Europe for €349.99; the product will launch in America on February 27th for $349.99. Signify has also recently released the Philips Hue Secure starter kit, the Philips Hue Dymera and other smart lights and accessories. Plus, an update to the security features offered by the Philips Hue app is on the way alongside various smart home ecosystem integrations.
