TCL FFALCON Thunderbird Crane 7 TV new MiniLED model unveiled
The TCL FFALCON Thunderbird Crane 7 2024 TVs have been unveiled in China. FFALCON is a sub-brand of TCL, specializing in smart TVs. Three sizes are available: 65-inch, 75-inch and 85-inch. The model has a MiniLED display with a 4K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate; the smallest model features 960 backlight partitions, the middle variant has 1,248, and the largest device has 1,536.
The Thunderbird Crane 7 has up to 2,200 nits brightness in its 65-inch and 75-inch sizes, while the range-topping 85-inch model peaks at 2,400 nits. Otherwise, the TVs are the same, with 95% coverage of the DCI-P3 color gamut and support for Dolby VisionIQ, HDR10+ and HLG. The TV runs on Android 11.0, and the device supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 connectivity, allowing you to screencast wirelessly from Android, iOS, Windows and Mac devices. Gaming features include 240Hz MEMC motion smoothing, VRR, ALLM, Dolby Gaming support and an HDMI 2.1 port with a bandwidth of up to 48 Gbps.
Other ports on the gadget include HDMI 2.0, USB 3.0 and USB 2.0. The TV also has a 2.1 channel 60W speaker system, with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X compatibility, and the TCL Little T voice assistant. You can buy the 65-inch, 75-inch and 85-inch versions of the TCL FFALCON Thunderbird Crane 7 2024 TV in China for 4,999 yuan (~$705), 6,499 yuan (~$915) and 8,499 yuan (~$1,200), respectively. Whether or when the model could launch in other regions remains to be seen.
