TP Vision has revealed its flagship OLED+959 Ambilight TV. The 2024 model offers up to 3,000 nits brightness, reduced latency for gaming and a new Game Bar. Several differences exist from the new OLED+909 model, such as upgraded Ambilight technology, more powerful speakers and a pedestal stand.

The Philips OLED+959 Ambilight TV has been unveiled as part of the brand’s 2024 TV range. Announced at the same time was the OLED+909, which has a reduced feature set compared to the flagship OLED+959. One upgrade is Ambilight Plus, a new version of the technology with a larger halo of light and a higher resolution.

The 8th Gen P5 AI Dual Engine processor is used in the OLED+959, including Ambient Intelligence V3 for enhanced HDR in a brighter room and improved contrast. The AI Machine Sharpness V2 tool brings more details to the image, making it more realistic, and the META Multi Booster algorithm helps the TV reach its maximum brightness of 3,000 nits. The Philips TV runs on Google OS with Matter and Control4 Smart Home compatibility. For gaming, latency has been reduced from the 200ms seen in older models to 40ms, and a new Game Bar offers easy access to settings. Other features include MEMC, 144Hz VRR and support for Dolby Vision Gaming.

Another difference between the OLED+959 and the OLED+909 is with the speakers from Bowers & Wilkins. The OLED+959 has an integrated 102W 5.1.2ch sound system, providing more immersive audio than the 3.1ch speakers in the OLED+909. Plus, the OLED+959 has a large floor stand made from aluminum and steel. The 2024 Philips OLED+959 Ambilight TV will arrive with a 65-inch screen sometime in Q3. Whether the company intends to release the model in other size variants remains to be seen, as well as how much the TV will cost.
