The 2024 Philips OLED+909 Ambilight TV has been revealed, with an expected launch date later this year. The new model has up to 3,000 nits brightness, runs on Google OS and is Matter compatible. Other features include a new Game Bar, Dolby Vision Gaming and integrated Bowers & Wilkins speakers.

TP Vision has announced its 2024 Philips OLED+ Ambilight TVs, which include the new OLED+909 model. The TV, announced alongside the OLED+959, will be available later this year with a 55”, 65” or 75” screen. The product features Ambilight technology across all four sides for a more immersive lighting experience.

The OLED+909 uses eighth-generation P5 AI processing for improved contrast, and the META 2.0 panel can achieve up to 3,000 nits brightness, thanks in part to the Micro Lens Array Plus technology. The TV runs on the latest Google OS and is Matter compatible, allowing integration with a wide range of smart home ecosystems. Gaming features include MEMC and 144Hz VRR alongside support for Dolby Vision Gaming. The new Game Bar enables you to quickly customize your experience, including Ambilight settings, and latency has been reduced from 40ms, previously closer to 200ms. For sound, the TV features a 3.1ch front-firing sound system from Bowers & Wilkins, with the option to connect an external subwoofer for bassier audio.

All of these features are also available or improved upon in the OLED+959. One notable absence is any mention of the Philips Hue smart lighting integration; whether or when this could come back remains to be seen. The Philips OLED+909 TV in 55”, 65” and 77” screen sizes will launch this June; the company has yet to reveal the pricing of its new model. Based on the different features, the OLED+909 will likely be cheaper than the OLED+959.
