Google Pixel 8 Pro new colour option leaks before launch day
Last week, Google teased details about releasing a new Pixel 8 Pro (curr. $999.99 on Amazon) colour option. In summary, the company published a tweet with the following message written in ASCII/UTF-8 binary:
01000110 01110010 01100101 01110011 01101000 00100000 01111001 01100101 01100001 01110010 00101100 00100000 01100110 01110010 01100101 01110011 01101000 00100000 01100100 01110010 01101111 01110000 00101110 00100000
As we discussed at the time, the message above converts to 'Fresh year, fresh drop', which Google accompanied with an @itsaliving street artist-inspired video. While Google is waiting until January 25 to unveil its 'Minty Fresh' refresh, Evan Blass has already leaked a product photo online. Although the leaker has only shared the Pixel 8 Pro in 'Mint', Google is also expected to offer the Pixel 8 in the same colour option. Despite there being no sign of the latter yet, @Za_Raczke noticed references to both models in 'Light Green' within Google's repair guides.
Based on the image below, Google has included a themed home screen, along with a tinted camera bar. Currently, Google has not indicated the markets in which its 'Minty Fresh' refresh will be available nor whether it will be a limited run. The company does sell accompanying Mint cases for the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro outside North America though, which it has been selling for months at this point.
