Google releases new Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro colour options with launch bonuses
Google has now refreshed the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro with a new colour option, which arrives alongside a surprise January 2024 Feature Drop. As expected, the company is now offering the pair in 'Mint', although it refers to the new colour as 'Minty Fresh' in its marketing material. Given the 'Oh So Orange' and 'Sorta Sage' colours in which the Pixel 4 series and Pixel 5 were available, respectively, 'Minty Fresh' could be confused for the new colour's actual name.
At any rate, there are a few caveats with Google's Mint refresh. On the one hand, while Google offers the Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro (curr. $999.99 on Amazon) with multiple storage options, this does not apply to their new Mint colours. Instead, it is only possible to purchase a Mint model with 128 GB of storage, even though 1 TB editions of the Pixel 8 Pro exist in some markets.
On the other hand, Google is providing various launch offers depending on where you live. For example, US customers will receive a complimentary Mint silicone case when purchasing the Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro in Mint until the end of February 3, 2024. In comparison, German customers will gain up to €150 in Store Credit, or €100 for a Pixel 8 purchase. Meanwhile, there is no immediate benefit to UK customers for purchasing a Pixel 8 or Pixel 8 Pro in Mint compared to other colours. However, all Mint orders will be entered into a 'Kick with Pixel', a mini game-based prize draw that Google describes as follows:
With every order, you'll receive a unique QR code that invites you to play Kick with Pixel for the chance to win football tickets, shirts and even matchday pitchside access at The Emirates
