Google is expected to launch its mid-range smartphone for the year, the Pixel 8a, in a few months. As has become typical of the company's products, however, the Pixel 8a—or at least its packaging—appears to have leaked prematurely.
Courtesy of user Hung Nv on a Vietnamese Google Pixel Facebook group, the Pixel 8a's packaging can be seen in the flesh, confirming the design of the mid-ranger. There is, of course, nothing novel on display as renders of the smartphone already leaked ages ago. It does affirms the presence of two rear cameras, however, likely a main snapper assisted by an ultra-wide-angle camera, just like on last year's Pixel 7a.
Of more interest is what appears to be confirmation of a charging upgrade for the Pixel 8a, with the box picturing a USB-Pad charging brick and text listing a charging range between 7.5 W and 27 W. 7.5 W is the wireless charging wattage for the Pixel 7a, so it stands to reason that the 8a will offer 27 W wired charging, a decent upgrade on the 7a's 18 W brick.
