While the Steam Deck OLED ($672 on Amazon) is an excellent console in its own right, it can prove to be an expensive upgrade for many Steam Deck LCD owners. DeckHD has an interesting new product for gamers looking to spruce up their console without burning a giant hole in their pocket- a screen upgrade.

DeckHD lets you upgrade your display to a 7-inch 1,920 x 1,200 IPS LCD panel with a peak brightness of 400 nits, a 60 Hz refresh rate and an anti-glare coating (otherwise exclusive to the 512 GB version). It covers 87% of the sRGB colour gamut and comes with supposedly has better touch sensitivity. It has been around for a while can be bought from DeckHD's website at $99.

So far, you had to install the screen yourself. Now, you can send your Steam Deck over to DeckHD, who'll install it and make the necessary BIOS modifications for a fee of $198 ($99 for the screen and $99 for swapping it). Refer to DeckHD's terms and conditions for more information.

Do bear in mind that most of the "Deck optimized" titles are made with an 800p screen in mind. The Steam Deck's APU is no slouch, but the extra resolution will come at the cost of computing resources and result in less-than-optimal performance, especially for demanding titles.
