MINISFORUM S100-N100 launching later this year as efficient mini-PC with Power over Ethernet support
MINISFORUM is preparing to launch another mini-PC and one that is even smaller than the HX200G and UH185 Ultra on which we have already reported. This time, MINISFORUM has developed the S100-N100, a pocketable alternative intended for digital signage and education. Accordingly, the S100-N100 has fairly limited ports, which are as follows:
- 1x 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet (PoE support)
- 1x HDMI 2.0
- 2x USB 3.1 Type-A (10 Gbps)
- 1x USB Type-C (Power Delivery)
As its name implies, the S100-N100 also features an Intel Processor N100 CPU. An entry-level option in the Alder Lake-N series, the Processor N100 contains four Gracemont Efficient cores that clock between 1 GHz and 3.4 GHz. Additionally, the 10 nm processor has a 6 W TDP and an iGPU with 24 Execution Units (EUs) but no Hyper-Threading.
Moreover, MINISFORUM plans to ship the S100-N100 with 8 GB of LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 4,800 MT/s and 256 GB of UFS 2.1 flash storage upon which Windows 11 will be pre-installed. Please note that MINISFORUM included soldered RAM and storage, limiting the mini-PC's expansion options. According to ShortCircuit, the S100-N100 is expected to arrive in the 'coming months'. However, MINISFORUM has not disclosed retail pricing yet.
