MINISFORUM Venus Series NAB7 arrives as new mini-PC sporting powerful processor with barebones and pre-configured options
MINISFORUM has quietly released a new Venus Series mini-PC. For context, only a few months have passed since its presented the Venus Series NPB6 with an Intel Core i7-13620H processor, with the Venus Series UM690S arriving at the start of the autumn packing the AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. More recently, it has presented the HX200G, S100-N100 and UH185 Ultra, which will all target different performance levels and price points.
Surprisingly, MINISFORUM has turned its attention to the NAB7, a more powerful alternative to the NAB6, which is almost a year old. According to the company's product page, the NAB7 utilises the Core i7-12700H, an Alder Lake-H processor that Intel affords a 45 W TDP, 14 cores, 20 threads and 24 MB L3 cache. Additionally, the 10 nm processor integrates an Iris Xe iGPU with 96 Execution Units (EUs) clocked at 1.4 GHz.
In short, the Core i7-12700H should deliver about a 17% performance advantage over the Core i7-12650H that powers the existing NAB6. Other areas remain unchanged though, including the NAB7's port selection. The MINISFORUM NAB7 starts at $359/€399 as a barebones unit but is configurable with 32 GB of RAM and 512 GB or 1 TB of storage for $479/€539 and $499/€559, respectively. Please note that all SKUs ship with a pair of SO-DIMM slots that support DDR4 RAM, a 2.5-inch SATA 3.0 slot and an M.2 2280 slot for PCIe 4.0 SSDs.
