AOOSTAR, also known as Tianbao in the Chinese market, has introduced the upgraded version of the GOD78 (also known as GOD7) gaming mini PC in China. Called the GOD88, the new tiny gaming computer upgrades the processor to a newer AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS from the Ryzen 7 7840HS found inside the predecessor.
Even though we haven't benchmarked the Ryzen 7 8845HS yet, we believe it to be a Ryzen 7 7840HS in disguise, and the performance metrics shared by AOOSTAR have pretty much confirmed it. According to the mini PC maker, the Cinebench 23 benchmark scores of the GOD78 and GOD88 are pretty much the same. You can check the scores from the image attached at the end.
Moreover, the iGPU of the Ryzen 7 8845HS and Ryzen 7 7840HS is the same. It's the Radeon 780M, which is a great integrated graphics solution that offers respective frame rates in our benchmarks. So, both the gaming mini PCs will deliver identical performance. But, yes, the newer Hawk Point processor does have a 16 TOPS NPU.
Other highlights of the new gaming mini PC include a 40G USB 4 port. This port brings the ability to connect to discrete GPU, though an upgrade to the OcuLink port would've made the computer perform better with eGPU solutions. Also, the new AOOSTAR GOD88 has the same futuristic Cyberpunk-inspired chassis as the predecessor, which packs a robust cooling system inside. You can learn more from the images attached below.
Regarding pricing, Tianbao will start taking pre-orders for the GOD88 mini PC from February 5 in China at CNY 2688, which is around $378. It should also launch in the international markets right after it goes on sale in China. But if you can't wait, it's better to get the GOD7 from Amazon instead.
