MSI has refreshed the Cubi N ADL series, which has been available since early 2023. Now, the company is offering the Cubi N ADL S, a silent version of the Cubi N ADL, thanks to its large heatsink.

MSI has introduced a new version of the Cubi N ADL, a mini-PC that it debuted during CES 2023 before launching it three months later. For reference, the Cubi N ADL now sells for $149 as a barebones unit, $20 less than its MSRP. Unfortunately, MSI has not yet confirmed pricing for its new model, the Cubi N ADL S.

As the likes of Fanless Tech and Liliputing note, little separates the Cubi N ADL from the newer Cubi N ADL S. On the one hand, the new mini-PC still measures 124 x 124 x 54 mm with various front and rear-mounted ports, including one USB Type-C connection that supports DisplayPort Alt Mode. Additionally, MSI continues to include four USB Type-A ports, a pair of Gigabit Ethernet connections and two dedicated display outputs.

On the other hand, the Cubi N ADL S can be configured with Intel Processor N100 and Processor N200 CPUs. In summary, the pair sit within Intel's Alder Lake-N series and combine quad-core processors cores with 6 W TDPs. However, while the Cubi N ADL kept its processors cool using an active cooling method, the Cubi N ADL S does so using a larger heatsink. In other words, the Cubi N ADL S can run silently, whereas the Cubi N ADL cannot unless you configure the former with a 2.5-inch HDD. Please see MSI's website for more details.
