MSI Cubi N ADL: New mini-PC now available with low-powered Intel Alder Lake-N processors
MSI is now selling the Cubi N ADL after showcasing the mini-PC in January at CES 2023. To recap, the Cubi N ADL is one of a few Intel Alder Lake-N-based machines, along with the Beelink EQ12 and the ASUS ExpertCenter PN42. In short, Alder Lake-N is Intel's latest low-powered architecture, with 6 W processors that only have E cores.
At launch, MSI offers the Cubi N ADL with the Processor N100 or Processor N200, two quad-core parts with no Hyper-Threading support. Theoretically, the pair should deliver comparable CPU performance, although the Processor N200 has a 300 MHz higher CPU boost clock at 3.7 GHz. However, the Processor N200 also has a more powerful integrated graphics card, with a 32 Execution Unit part compared to a 24 Execution Unit part in the Processor N100.
Incidentally, the Cubi N ADL arrives a few days after the Beelink EQ12, which Beelink sells from US$239. In comparison, Zones has listed the Cubi N ADL from US$194.99, although some SKUs cost nearly US$300. For example, Amazon has priced the mini-PC at US$289 with 4 GB of RAM, 128 GB of storage and a Windows 11 Pro licence. In other words, the Cubi N ADL is more expensive than the Beelink EQ12.
