The new Chapel Rock lineup of mini PCs from Simply NUC features Intel Alder Lake embedded processors with vPro technology offering business-grade security. These are targeted at industrial and commercial EDGE / IoT applications, so the price points are significantly higher compared to the regular DIY NUC models.
Processor options include the 15 W TDP i5-1245UE and i7-1265UE models, both with 10 cores, 12 MB Smart Chache and Xe iGPUs. The mini PCs integrate two SO-DIMM slots that support up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM. Storage is facilitated via an M.2 slot with PCIe 4.0 speeds and another M.2 slot limited to SATA mode for a total capacity of 6 TB.
Wireless connectivity is ensured via a Wi-Fi 6 + BT 5.1 card, and there is also a NIC with dual-2.5 Gb jacks. Port selection comes with 2x USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 (with DP mode), 4x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, 1x DP 1.4 + HDMI 2.0a video outputs, and audio combo jack. Simply NUC also provides custom port loadouts with additional USB, video outs, audio and net jacks plus serial connectors.
Prices start at US$969 for the i5 model and US$1,119 for the i7 model, but these only include 4 GB of RAM and a 256 GB NVMe SSD. A full option i7 costs US$2,677.75.
