Deal | MINISFORUM Venus UM690: AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX mini-PC drops below US$700 with RAM and storage in new money off deal

The MINISFORUM Venus UM690 is currently available at a sizeable discount through Amazon. Released last October, the Venus UM690 measures 127.6 x 127.6 x 48.2 mm and weighs approximately 550 g. While the Venus UM690 looks an awful lot like the Venus UM590, the former features a significantly more powerful iGPU than the latter.

Specifically, the Venus UM690 contains the Radeon 680M, an RDNA 2-based iGPU with 12 Compute Units. According to our database, the Radeon 680M delivers 1.88x the performance of the Radeon RX Vega 8 in the Venus UM590. The Ryzen 9 6900HX just edges the Ryzen 9 5900HX though, with a 4% lead in our database. The Venus UM690 also supports USB4 and fared well when we reviewed it in February, although it lost marks for having no SD card reader and its loud fan under load.

At the time of writing, the Venus UM690 can be purchased on Amazon US for US$689.99 with 512 GB of storage and 32 GB of DDR5-4800 RAM. For reference, this SKU carries a US$859.99 MSRP, although there are cheaper options if you are happy sourcing your own RAM and storage. In comparison, MINISFORUM sells the same configuration on its website for US$749.
