Earlier, we reported that the ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14 with a Ryzen 9 6900HS and a Radeon RX 6800S was going for US$1,299.99 at Best Buy, a discount of US$600 on the list price. A slightly different configuration of the ROG Zephyrus G14 with a Radeon RX 6700S has also scored a massive price cut at Best Buy and it can now be had for US$1,099.99 which is US$550 less than the US$1,649.99 list price (via slickdeals).
For the uninitiated, the ROG Zephyrus G14 is an excellent mid-tear gaming laptop as it got a rating of 87% in our review. Granted, we tested a different config of the notebook with a Ryzen 9 6900HS, a Radeon RX 6800S, and 32 GB of memory, but the general conclusions regarding the build, display quality, and CPU performance are still valid for the SKU under discussion.
When it comes to the GPU performance, the Radeon RX 6700S matches the RTX 3070 laptop GPU per our testing. The GPU can drive most modern games at 60+ fps at FHD resolution with high graphics settings. For instance, in Cyberpunk 2077, the Radeon RX 6700S managed an average 74 fps at FHD/High and 59.7 fps at Ultra settings.
Put simply, the RX 6700S-equipped ROG Zephyrus G14 at US$1,099.99 is a pretty good deal for shoppers that are in the market for a mid-range gaming laptop.
