Asus has confirmed that the ROG Phone is back with its 7 series in 2023. The upcoming addition to the top-end smartphone line is officially set to launch later this year. The OEM touts it to be unleashed as a new "legend" on the Android gaming scene for this year during a live-streamed, multi-venue event

The RedMagic 8 Pro is still waiting on a second player in the 2023 premium Android gaming arena, bereft of challengers following the news that Lenovo will be dropping out as it is discontinuing its Legion Phone line. However, it no longer has that long to hang around alone. Asus has started to tease the imminent launch of the ROG Phone 7 on Twitter.

The OEM has scheduled the next-gen flagship smartphone to debut simultaneously in Taipei at 20:00, Berlin at 14:00 CET and New York at 08:00 EDT on April 13, 2023 this year, suggesting that it may be a virtual or digital event.

Asus has yet to drop a hint as to any design- or function-related changes compared to the ROG Phone 6 thus far, although it is rumored to switch to the newer Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. Should that be the case, it may help make for "legendary" performance in the next-gen high-performance mobile device.
