Lenovo has re-released the Tab Extreme in China, which debuted two months ago at CES 2023. The company has changed the tablet's name to the Legion Y900 for its Chinese release though, despite its reliance on a last-generation chipset. Specifically, the Legion Y900 utilises the Dimensity 9000, which MediaTek has since replaced with the Dimensity 9200.
For reference, the Immortalis-G715 MP11 in the Dimensity 9200 offers almost 20% better performance than the Mali-G710 MP10 in the Dimensity 9000. Lenovo pairs the latter with 12 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, 256 GB of UFS 3.1 storage, as well as a 12,300 mAh battery that supports 68 W fast charging. In short, there are no hardware changes from the Tab Extreme.
The Legion Y900 will carry a CNY 5,999 (~US$809) MSRP, which is significantly cheaper than the Tab Extreme. However, Lenovo will offer the Legion Y900 for CNY 4,999 (~US$674) at launch. Incidentally, the Tab Extreme will not be available until the summer in Europe, North America and other markets.
