Even though Lenovo has not yet officially announced a refresh for the IdeaPad Duet 5i lineup launched last year, the company’s PSREF site now includes mentions and detailed specs for an unreleased 12IRU8 convertible that is powered by Intel’s latest Raptor Lake-U processors. From the images included, the design appears to be largely the same from the 2022 models. However, Lenovo seems to have ditched the entry-level Pentium procesors.
The new Raptor Lake-U options include the 6-core i3-1315U, and the i5-1335U as well as the i7-1355U 10-core processors. Additionally, the 4 GB RAM option is not offered any longer, only the 8 GB and 16 GB options are now left. The RAM is not upgradeable, as it comes with soldered LPDDR4x-4266 modules. The storage solution, on the other hand, is replaceable. Lenovo offers a 128 GB PCIe 3.0 SSD for the more affordable versions, while the premium models get either 256 GB or 512 GB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSDs.
No obvious changes on the display side. The LTPS touchscreen still comes with 2560 x 16000 16:10 resolution, 500 nit peak brightness supporting Dolby Vision and 96% DCI-P3 color gamut. The 12.4-inch size is slightly bigger compared to the original 12.3-inch screen from last year. There is also a detachable keyboard and a Lenovo Digital Pen 3.
Port selection is quite minimalist, with only two USB-C 3.2 Gen 1 (full option) connectors and an audio combo jack. Wireless connectivity is provided through the included Wi-Fi 6E + BT 5.1 card. Other features include a 50 Wh battery, 5 MP front camera with IR sensor, 5 MP rear camera with ToF sensor, 2x 2 W speakers with Dolby Atmos, and a Realtek ALC3287 audio codec. Chassis profile is 9.45 mm (0.37 inches).
Prices and availability are not known as of yet, but expect the i3 models with 8 GB and 128 GB storage to start at ~US$500.
