Alongside the Legion Slim 7/7i, Lenovo has taken the wraps off the Legion Slim 5 and Slim 5i (16”, 8) laptops. The Gen 8 Legion Slim 5 and Slim 5i feature up to 16-inch WQXGA 16:10 IPS panels with a 2560x1600 resolution, a 240 Hz refresh rate, NVIDIA G-SYNC/AMD FreeSync support, and 500 nits of brightness.
On the CPU front, the Legion Slim 5i and Slim 5 pack up to a Core i9-13900H and a Ryzen 9 7940HS chip respectively. However, the GPU is where things get interesting. Per Lenovo, there are two versions of the Legion Slim 5i and Slim 5, a thinner variant with up to a 115 W RTX 4050 and a thin variant with up to a 140 W RTX 4070.
Moreover, the RAM and storage combo on offer includes the option for a maximum of 32 GB of DDR5-5600 memory and 1 TB of PCIe Gen 4 storage.
Finally, both laptops feature an 80 Wh battery which, like the Legion Slim 7i/7, can be fast charged to 70% in 30 minutes.
The Legion Slim 5 and Slim 5i (16”, 8) are scheduled to appear on store shelves in June and May 2023 respectively at starting prices of €1,499 and €1,549.
