Legion Y700 2023 will launch as a tablet with pen support - and dual USB type-C ports
Lenovo's Legion brand has just conducted a detailed hands-on with the oncoming 2023 version of its Y700 gaming tablet. The video reveals that the slate's 8.8-inch display will be housed in a metallic unibody weighing 378 grams (g) - however, it will have 1 more USB type-C port than most devices with that construction.
Legion has indeed confirmed that a Y700 2023 can connect to cables and accessories in either landscape or portrait orientation at the same time. They will be found along CNC-machined edges of ~7.9mm in height, and seem backed to support "OTG" peripherals and cables in general. Dual-port charging is unlikely, however: the genes of the doomed Legion Phone line may not live on that well.
Lenovo has also casually scattered additional Legion Y700 2023 feature preview Easter eggs throughout its new post; for example, it, like the new Tab M10 5G, is also compatible with a stylus thanks to 4,096-level pressure sensitivity. Then again, the display in question will be a higher-end 2.5K, 500-nit IPS panel with DC dimming.
The LPDDR5X RAM Y700 2023 also seems to come in 2 different shades - although neither has been shown to change color as yet. It will be interesting to see if Lenovo has more to share before the tablet's official launch given that it is now has only about 4 days to go from now (July 18, 2023).
