Lenovo confirms various Legion Y700 2023 specifications before July 22 launch
Lenovo has provided more details about the 2023 refresh of the Legion Y700, following several leaks by the likes of Digital Chat Station. Referred to as the Legion Y700 2023 for now, the new tablet appears to be a modest upgrade over its predecessor in most regards, with an almost unchanged design. As far as we can tell, the only visual differences between the Legion Y700 and its 2023 refresh are a tweaked camera housing.
Lenovo appears to have added a second rear-facing camera, although its primary may be an unchanged 13 MP sensor. Also, we cannot see a third hardware button that Lenovo included on the original Legion Y700. Lenovo has confirmed that this year's Legion Y700 will maintain an 8.8-inch and 2,560 x 1,600-pixel IPS display too. However, Lenovo has upped its peak refresh rate from 120 Hz to 144 Hz, a minor upgrade. Similarly, last year's 6,550 mAh battery and 45 W wired charging will remain unchanged.
Lenovo will now pair the Legion Y700 with a Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 chipset though, which averages roughly 20% better performance than the Snapdragon 870 in our database. Moreover, the new Legion Y700 will be available with up to 16 GB of RAM, 4 GB more than its predecessor. Elsewhere, the Legion Y700 2023 is said to contain a large vapour chamber cooling system to mitigate waste heat, plus stereo speakers an x-axis linear motor. Lenovo will present the Legion Y700 2023 on July 22 in China; the company has commented on a global release yet.
