Rumor | Lenovo Legion Y700 2023 version headed for SoC, RAM and software upgrades
Lenovo's Legion gaming brand got its first ever dedicated 8.8-inch display Android tablet in 2022. Now, the OEM has confirmed that it is indeed getting a successor, just a few months later into the year. The Y700 (2023) has already seemingly been revealed (in the course of a teaser campaign that suggests someone has been watching a lot of graphic novel-inspired content lately) to look a lot like its inaugural forebear from the front.
However, according to a recent post by famous leaker Digital Chat Station, there are some internal changes in the Y700 series year on year. It will pack either 12GB or even 16GB of RAM into its relatively small chassis, whereas the original tablet had 12GB at most.
The newer tablet is also now projected to ship with ZUI 15 based on Android 13, as opposed to ZUI 13 in its predecessor. That version of the Y700 was equipped with the Snapdragon 870 from 2021, and its upcoming refresh is indeed slated to have newer silicon - although it is said to be the 8+ Gen 1 rather than something actually from 2023, such as the 8 Gen 2.
Nevertheless, that gives the Y700 2023 (or "TB320FC", according to the tipster) a top-tier processor rather than a sub-flagship SoC this time. The revamped mobile gaming device is still scheduled to launch on July 22, 2023 as part of the next Legion's major domestic product event.
