Lenovo Legion Y700 (2023) launch date announcement hits Weibo
RedMagic's hype-train for its upcoming first-gen tablet may be on course for a potential derailment with the abrupt revelation that a slightly better-established name in the Android gaming slate market has been set on a collision course with it. Lenovo has indeed just confirmed that the Legion Y700 is on its way back this year.
With a 120Hz refresh rate and a Snapdragon 870 SoC for its 2.K display, dual X-axis haptics and JBL speakers - not to mention a special color-changing edition - the original Y700 seemed to have all an 8.8-inch 'gaming' tablet needed on its 2022 launch.
Lenovo has confirmed that the "new" version will have a display of the same approximate size as its travel-friendly predecessor, but has yet to hint at its specs or any upgrades thereon.
The OEM has, however, indicated that it will be unleashed during a major product event, alongside other devices such as the Y9000X 2023, on July 22 in China - hopefully with improved international availability for the slate to follow this time around to follow.
