Lenovo has started teasing a significant product launch event that is set to take place at 19:00 Beijing time on February 28. While the company hasn’t specifically stated what products will be revealed at the event, it’s clearly linked to the numerous gaming-oriented devices Lenovo has been teasing lately. This means the Legion Y90 gaming smartphone, the Y7000P, Y9000P, R7000P, and R9000P Intel Core and AMD Ryzen-based notebooks, and the eagerly awaited 8.8-inch Android tablet, the Lenovo Legion Y700.
Fortunately, Lenovo has shared almost every facet of the Legion Y700 compact gaming tablet except the price, which is expected to be somewhere around the equivalent of the US$400 mark. The Android slate features an SD 870 processor, and it comes packed with an 8.8-inch 2K (2560x1600) display and JBL speakers. The screen supports a 120 Hz refresh rate, and the GPU is capable of switching between three gaming modes: energy saving, balanced, and “beast”.
It is not yet known whether the Lenovo Legion Y700 tablet will even make it outside of its domestic market of China, although there is some expectation that the Y90 smartphone should reach international markets. New choices for fans of affordable and compact Android tablets are currently thin on the ground, so it would be a smart move for Lenovo to ship the Legion Y700 beyond Chinese borders.
