Amazon is currently running a sale on the current generation Lenovo Flex 5 convertible for $250 USD off the original launch price of $850. The deal is notable for its high-end specifications relative to the new asking price. The AMD Ryzen 5 5500U CPU in particular can outpace the best Intel 11th gen Tiger Lake-U processor available in terms of multi-thread performance while being just a tad slower in terms of both single-thread and integrated graphics performance.
Other than the speedy Zen 2 CPU, users would also be getting 16 GB of RAM instead of the typical 8 GB on many other inexpensive laptops and a decent 1080p IPS touchscreen with a backlit keyboard.
The two main drawbacks users will want to keep in mind are its relatively heavy weight and limited 256 GB of internal storage. Though 1.5 kg isn't especially heavy for a 15.6-inch laptop, it can be quite heavy if handling the unit in tablet form. Meanwhile, the small 256 GB SSD can thankfully be swapped out if you happen to have a Torx screw lying around to remove the bottom panel.
