New RedMagic gaming monitor previewed as Samsung Odyssey OLED G9 competitor
Nubia has presented its competitor to the Odyssey OLED G9, which Samsung started selling last month after debuting it in January at CES 2023. Based on the specifications that Nubia has revealed so far, it has based the new RedMagic gaming monitor on the same QD-OLED panel found in the Odyssey OLED G9. Hence, the RedMagic gaming monitor measures 49-inches across and has a 1800R curvature.
Additionally, the monitor outputs natively at 5,120 x 1,440 pixels in a 32:9 aspect ratio and with a 109 PPI pixel density. In other words, the panel is equivalent to having a pair of QHD 27-inch monitors next to each other. Moreover, the RedMagic gaming monitor is said to combine a 240 Hz refresh rate with 0.3 ms response times, with the latter being typical for OLED panels.
Furthermore, the panel covers 99% of the DCI-P3 colour space, supports AMD FreeSync and NVIDIA G-SYNC, and is VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified. While Nubia has not disclosed brightness details yet, VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification guarantees 250 nits full surface brightness and 400 nits peak brightness. Nubia has not revealed pricing details yet, but the gaming monitor will feature modern I/O like HDMI 2.1 and USB Type-C with 90 W Power Delivery.
